DIRECTOR OF NURSING
Compensation: Exempt Position/DOE
A not-for-profit Senior Citizens’ Retirement Community comprised of 224 condominiums and a 59 bed medical unit in San Rafael is seeking a Director of Nursing for our SNF/RCFE healthcare unit.
Responsible for the supervision & management of Health Center including the Nursing Facility, Personal Care & Outpatient Services Department; performs a variety of duties to support the Health Center & the operations of Villa Marin.
Hires, directly supervises & evaluates all licensed staff and C.N.A.’s. Provides day-to-day hands on supervision and management of Skilled Nursing to assure excellent nursing care & nursing practice. Supervises the Villa Marin Health Center (Nursing, Personal Care, Outpatient Services) in accordance with all local, state, federal law and regulations. Responsible for planning, staffing, budgeting & policy implementation in the Health Center. Sets standards of excellence to assure the highest quality of health care for Villa Marin residents. Responsible for the day-to-day management of Personal Care Unit and Outpatient Services. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum of Bachelors Degree. Evidence of Continuing Education to improve proficiencies in knowledge & skill in management of the Health Center. Current California nursing license & qualified to practice in the State of California as an RN. Strong interpersonal & communication skills to deal with residents, families, staff & medical professional staff. Must have thorough knowledge of Title 22, Federal OBRA regulations & RCFE regulations. Knowledge & skill in budgeting, personnel law & practice, issues in aging, proven supervisory skills, ability to motivate staff & counseling skills to achieve organizational goals & objective. Demonstrates successful administration and previous experience as a DON working in a long-term care setting. Has demonstrated longevity of professional employment in one setting.
